Designated as Historical Ventura Landmark No. 20 , the Ventura Pier was built in 1872. Known as the Ventura Wharff when first built for shipping, it is now an awesome place to visit for grabbing a great view of the city. Accessed from the beach promenade, is also a great place to enjoy sunrises and sunsets, to fish and picnic. Many community groups use the pier for staging the start and finish for events. The sunsets from the nearby beaches are beyond spectacular.
